September is national suicide awareness month. In loving memory of my friend Sasha Wolfe, I will donate 100% of proceeds to Mental Health America, the nation’s oldest advocacy organization addressing the full spectrum of mental health and substance use conditions. MHA is dedicated to promoting mental health, preventing mental and substance use conditions and achieving victory over mental illnesses and addictions through advocacy, education, research and service.

Melanie Flood (b. New York) is a Portland, OR based artist. In 2014 she was the recipient of a Regional Art and Cultural Council Artistic Project Grant for her two person show The Nature of Things at the Newspace Center for Photography. From 2008-2009 she directed Melanie Flood Projects, a salon style space in her Brooklyn, New York residence. A contributing editor of zingmagazine, she has curated features by Jenny Holzer and Todd Hido. Flood holds a BFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts.
