Title: one dollar’s worth of tomatillos from Mexico
Description: This photograph is a part of my 2008 series, The Value of a Dollar. During the Spring of that year, I shopped in the markets of New Mexico and purchased food items to photograph for symbolic content. Food is clearly a potent symbol of wealth, power, health, and globalization for the 21st Century. Each image in the project represents one dollar’s worth of food from around the planet, and was shot without artificial light, styling or retouching.
